Understand steroid

8:31 PM Posted by andree

What an anabolic androgenic steroid is can be best understood taking the words separately. Anabolic or anabolism refers to that metabolic process in living organisms and cells - such as inside our body - that helps in synthesizing or bringing together smaller molecules to build larger ones. As against catabolism, that does the opposite, anabolism tends to coalesce complex molecules, letting them grow as a whole.

Androgenic stands for that property of a natural or synthetic chemical compound in vertebrates (for example, human beings) that stimulates or controls development and maintenance of masculine characteristics. More commonly, androgen is indicative of developing male sexuality, though testosterone, a well-known androgen, secretes in both the testes of males and the ovaries of females.

Setting Goals When Dieting

8:25 PM Posted by andree

As with most things in life, setting goals is very important when dieting. When you look at things truthfully and objectively you should notice that most of the things you've accomplished in life have been accomplished because you not only had a goal but also had a clearly planned and well thought out process for achieving that goal. That being said, why is goal setting so important when it comes to dieting?

First of all, it is difficult to achieve a goal if you do not have a clearly defined goal. There are times in life when it is almost impossible to tell whether you are succeeding or failing because you aren't certain exactly what the desired outcome should be. Identifying your dieting goals before you begin eliminates this particular possibility.

Dieting and Fitness

8:23 PM Posted by andree

When it comes to living a long and healthy life, there are two necessary ingredients: diet and fitness. While some believe that they are one thing all together, nothing could be further from the truth. It is quite possible to have a perfectly healthy diet with deplorable fitness habits. It is equally possible to be very physically fit with less than savory eating habits.

There's a clever little line in the Jimmy Buffet song "Fruitcakes" when his 'lady' is lamenting:
"I treat my body like a temple
You treat yours like a tent"

I can't help but think of this line whenever I think about all the people around the world who are going on these garbage in, garbage out diet plans hoping to achieve the weight loss success of those who are endorsing these products.

Body Building

8:33 PM Posted by andree

Bodybuilding is an activity that operates according to scientific principles and science is mathematically based. Bodybuilding is not an exact science and it's not healthy to look up to some guru for all your answers. Bodybuilding is the art and the science of developing your body. Modern bodybuilding is ritual, religion, sport, art, and science, awash in Western chemistry and mathematics. An extremely important aspect of bodybuilding is proper nutrition. The diet aspect of bodybuilding is just as important, if not more, than  the weight-lifting aspect. Bodybuilding is not a one-hour training session five days a week. Bodybuilding is more a philosophy of life than a straightforward physical activity. Bodybuilding is not just a sport; it is an investment in your body and your life. Bodybuilding is not about lifting weights, but about training muscles. Bodybuilding is designed to develop the muscles for general, sportive or corrective purposes. Bodybuilding is more than just a sport, it's a life style. Bodybuilding is a sport that mainly emphasizes physical appearance, body configuration and shape, trying to  achieve aesthetics perfection.

If you're looking for a way to feel and look great - then bodybuilding is for you. Bodybuilding is, in its method and ideals, a contradictory practice.

If it’s your first time to go to mountain climbing, the clothes you bring can ultimately make your experience pleasant…or unpleasant, especially if you plan to stay overnight or longer. Here’s what you should know about mountain climbing clothes to make your first hike fun and safe at the same time.

Tip #1 Use the Weather as a Guideline
The mountain climbing clothes you bring must subscribe to the dictates of the present weather. Obviously, spring and summer requires you to dress lightly while fall and winter requires you to bring warm clothing.

Climbing Your Way On Ice

8:02 PM Posted by andree

One of the most dangerous, yet exciting sport is ice climbing. It's actually an offshoot of mountain or rock climbing; the only difference is everything around you is covered with ice. People may wonder why others would want to engage in such a sport and risk their lives when there are less dangerous and less expensive sports.

Most people wouldn’t understand, but for a climber, climbing on ice provides a feeling of independence. When you’re out there in the snow, with temperature very well below zero, you get to free yourself from all the tensions and problems of the world. It is important to know that climbing on ice isn't for everyone, thus, not everybody who goes out in the snow to climb will appreciate the sport.

Dieting for Health

8:23 PM Posted by andree

There is no greater reason to diet than for your personal health and well being. Those of us who are overweight know better than most the risks and possible consequences that may result because of our weight. Much like smokers however, the risks do not always seem quite so cut and dry until we reach our very own turning point. Whether your eating habits are born of an addiction to certain foods, an emotional need, or years of learned behavior and conditioning things will not change until you completely adjust your eating habits and your lifestyle choices.

Dieting for many has become a lifestyle in and of itself with people rapidly flip-flopping or yo-yoing from one diet to another with little success and growing despair over a sheer lack of results. The truth is that until you decide to forgive yourself for your failures and get right back on the wagon, so to speak, after falling off no diet is going to be successful. A simple diet isn't going to magically make the pounds disappear and constantly depriving yourself of those things you enjoy most may have a more detrimental effect than a positive effect.

First Aid Kits Important

8:55 PM Posted by andree

Accidents are called as such because they happen to people when they least expect it. Thus, the best advice to give is to be always prepared for the inevitable to make its effects less serious and more manageable.

Being prepared for an accident means having a first aid kit in places or areas where you or your family usually stays. First aid kits are a necessity in your homes, your vehicle and even in your office. You never know when and where an accident will strike so it is best to be always prepared.

There are pharmacies and other establishments selling ready made first aid kits. However, preparing your own first aid kit can be better because you know what the possibilities in your horizon are in terms of accidents. Another reason why it is better to have your own first aid kit is because when there is an emergency, you know what is in your kit and you can easily get that item for whoever needs it.

A first aid kid need not be expensive for as long it contains the basic medicine and medical supplies that are commonly used for minor injuries requiring first aid. You can choose to buy the items all at one time or you can acquire them in batches. Later on, you will be able to build a suitable first aid kit,

The basic medical supplies for minor medical emergencies are cotton, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol and bandages. For general requirements around the house or when going camping, you need an insect repellant, aloe vera cream or gel for sunburns, pain relievers, basic medicines for head and stomach aches, diarrhea or irregular bowel movements and your doctor’s number .

A family that usually goes on picnics or go traveling using the family car or recreational vehicle should carry with them a first aid kit. The first aid kit for travelers should be waterproof, easy to access and the medicines are easily identifiable. Since it will be used for travel, the first aid kit should be light and easy to carry. It would be an advantage it the first aid kit has compartmentalized pockets and the latter have the names of the items inside the pockets.

Always keep your first aid kits clean and the medicines updated. It would be better if you can make an outline or a list of the contents of your first aid kit so that you will be able to know in a glance what you have inside. Also take note of the expiration dates of the medicines you have in your first aid kits to avoid giving expired medicines to person who are already medically in danger.

When preparing your first aid kit, always consider the needs of family members, particularly hose who have special medical needs or who have allergies to specific medicines.

4 Epic Days Of Powder Skiing

Grab your skis and get out here!

Those seven words were the start of the most epic adventure of my life. They came in the form of a phone call from a remote lodge in Eastern British Columbia.

Stay Legal! Avoiding Insurance Fraud

8:00 PM Posted by andree

Everyone knows that the health insurance industry is continually raising monthly premiums, and many feel this is unjust to you as the consumer. However, the health insurance industry has had to fight increasing health insurance fraud. The amount of money spent on investigating and prosecuting fraud is then passed on to policyholders. Many people do not understand what health insurance fraud entails, though. With reports estimating health insurance fraud is a $30 billion to over $100 billion industry per year, the topic should not be taken lightly. Every health insurance policyholder should understand what health insurance fraud is and its consequences. By doing so, you are more able to recognize and fight fraud.

Health insurance fraud is typically defined as intentionally deceiving, misrepresenting, or concealing information to receive benefits from the insurance company. Essentially this means that you assert that you paid for certain medical procedures or expenses out-of-pocket which you have not actually received, and you are submitting claims to the insurance company to receive reimbursement. Another example of member fraud is to conceal pre-existing conditions or to alter medical documents so that non-policyholders or ineligible members receive medical benefits under your policy. Perhaps your sister does not have insurance and needs medical attention. Having her use your name and policy to cover the expenses is health insurance fraud. While you may think that this is a small issue in comparison to your sister receiving treatment, it is actually very serious to your health insurance company and industry, and will result in fines and possible imprisonment if your are caught.

Not only policyholders commit fraud, but providers (physicians, hospitals, etc.) do as well. Since physicians and hospitals bill the insurance company for services they provide for you, they are also receiving reimbursement from the insurance company. When providers commit fraud, they may be billing the insurance company at higher rates for services rendered or they may bill for services you never received. In these cases, you will probably be asked to cooperate in the insurance company's investigation.

Another type of health insurance fraud that has developed recently targets the policyholder more than the insurance company. Schemes have developed where fake insurance companies or agents sign unsuspecting customers for coverage at surprisingly low premium rates. They often act much like a regular insurance company for the first few months, paying for smaller medical claims like physicians visits. But once you have a more serious medical condition that needs treatment, the insurance company will disappear - along with the money you have been paying in premiums.

The rule with health insurance fraud is much like that of any other scam: if a deal seems too good to be true, just remember - it probably is. Remember to be honest in your dealings with health insurance companies and expect the same in the return from these companies, as well as your health care providers. Stay legal to avoid fines and prison and to continue receiving health insurance coverage.

You Must Know About Cataract Surgery

8:54 PM Posted by andree

If you have a cataract it means the natural lens in your eye is cloudy. In a cataract operation your surgeon will remove the cloudy lens and put an artificial clear lens in its place.Your lens sits behind the coloured part of your eye (the iris) and helps you to see things in focus.

When you look at something, light comes into your eye through the hole in the centre (the pupil) and passes through the lens to the back of the eyeball (the retina). The light is then changed into nerve signals that travel to your brain. Your brain tells you what the image is.

Scabies and Personal Hygiene

8:44 PM Posted by andree

Scabies is a very contagious type of skin disorder caused by infestation with microscopic mites. The parasite mite that causes scabies in humans is called Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis. This type of parasitic organism is the only scabies mite that can complete its life cycle on the bodies of human hosts. Although animal mites can also cause temporary allergic reactions to people, they are unable to infest humans.

The majority of symptoms generated by scabies occur as a consequence of allergic reactions to the mites’ secretions and eggs. The mites feed on human blood and they contaminate the skin with their bites, releasing substances that are toxic to the human body. Once they burrow within the epidermis, scabies mites cause inflammation, rashes and itch. If scabies is not discovered in time, the mite infestation can generate serious symptoms such as skin lesions and ulcerations, formation of crust, painful nodules, blisters and pustules. The skin regions affected by scabies are very vulnerable to bacterial infections and some patients also develop skin disorders such as impetigo.

Health Insurance When Living Abroad

7:59 PM Posted by andree

You may not know this already, but when planning on traveling abroad you cannot take your local insurance with you. You will need to purchase an international insurance plan offered by a multinational insurance company. While they may be hard to track down, it is the best way to assure that in the event of an accident or illness you will be able to acquire medical attention if needed.

Many of these plans will cover you up to six months in another country. When you speak with the insurance company, be prepared to give an extensive list of information to them. This will range from health problems you've had in the past ten years, your hereditary conditions to substance abuse, and almost everything else-if it has anything to do with your health be prepared to disclose the information. If you are planning on traveling with more than one family member, then be prepared to give information for each family member as well.

Health and Fitness

7:29 PM Posted by andree

Being active makes a person healthy and strong. It is not just for people who have a weight problem but for everyone who likes to stay fit.

There is a lot a person can do such jog or walk every morning, play basketball or any other sport with friends but if a person wants to have muscles and look lean, then one can sign up and workout in a gym.

People workout for 3 reasons;

The first is that the person is overweight and the only way to lose those extra pounds will be to reduce ones calorie intake and at the same time workout in the gym.

The second is that the person is underweight and the only way to add extra pounds is to have more calories in ones diet and workout.

The third is just for fun and to keep that person in shape.

The best exercise plan should have cardiovascular and weight training exercises. This helps burn calories and increase the muscle to fat ratio that will increase ones metabolism and gain or lose weight.

Just like taking any medicine, one should first consult the doctor before undergoing any form of exercise.

Here are some benefits of exercising;

1.    It is the easiest way to maintain and improve ones health from a variety of diseases and premature death.

2.    Studies have shown that it makes a person feels happier and increases ones self esteem preventing one from falling into depression or anxiety.

3.    An active lifestyle makes a person live longer than a person who doesn’t.

Working out for someone who has not done it before should be done gradually. Endurance will not be built in a day and doing it repeatedly will surely be beneficial to the person.

It is advisable to workout regularly with a reasonable diet.

A person can consult with a dietitian or a health professional to really help plan a good diet program. It starts by evaluating the lifestyle and the health of the patient before any program can be made.

Afterwards, this is thoroughly discussed and recommended to the person which usually consists of an eating plan and an exercise program that does not require the use of supplements or one to purchase any expensive fitness equipment.

A good diet should have food from all the food groups.

This is made up by 2 things. The first is carbohydrates. The food that a person consumes should have vitamins, minerals and fiber. A lot of this can come from oats, rice, potatoes and cereals. The best still come from vegetables and fruits since these have phytochemicals, enzymes and micronutrients that are essential for a healthy diet.

The second is fat which can come from mono and poly saturated food sources rather than animal fats. Since fat contains more than double the number of calories in food, this should be taken in small quantities to gain or lose weight.

Another way to stay healthy is to give up some vices. Most people smoke and drink. Smoking has been proven to cause lung cancer and other diseases as well complications for women giving birth. Excessive drinking has also shown to do the same.

For people who don’t smoke, it is best to stay away from people who do since studies have shown that nonsmokers are also at risk of developing cancer due to secondary smoke inhalation.

3 Little Known Tips Of Basketball Hoop Shopping

9:04 PM Posted by andree

I've got a confession to make. I play basketball. I play it very poorly and can't make very many of the shots that I shoot at the basketball hoop. I have a feeling that I am not alone in the world at being a rather poor basketball player. However, one thing that I'm not bad at is comparison shopping. I've mastered the ancient art of comparing prices between merchants and can usually ferret out a fairly good deal with a little bit of leg work. Basketball hoops are no different than other items when it comes to shopping for them. There are some tips you should know before embarking on your journey to shop for a basketball hoop.

1)New or Used. You really might consider buying a used basketball hoop if you are interested in value. However, make sure you are buying one that hasn't been banged up too bad. Years of basketball practice can only make your rim bent and dirty. Ebay can be a great place to buy used equipment and basketball hoops are regularly for sale on Ebay.

What To Do When Infected With Contact Dermatitis

8:53 PM Posted by andree

Contact dermatitis is a physical reaction of the skin to certain allergens or substances that potently cause allergies or reactions.

The skin infection is brought about by the effects on the skin of certain irritants.

There are basically four kinds or classifications of contact dermatitis that are usually diagnosed by doctors and dermatologists. These are irritant contact dermatitis (ICD), allergic contact dermatitis (ACD), photocontact dermatitis (PCD) and contact urticaria.

Those types or classification of contact dermatitis can be hardly identified and distinguished by ordinary people, but the nature and cause of the skin infection can be determined through them.

A trivial fact about contact dermatitis is that in the United States, most recorded and diagnosed cases occur more in adults than children and the elderly.

Causes of contact dermatitis

Various allergens or allergy-causing substances can be cited for the onset of contact dermatitis. But reported cases of such skin infection points out to several factors or things that trigger the reaction.

The most common sources of contact dermatitis allergens are soaps and perfumes. It is because the use of such substances is somehow inevitable that make the problem hard to contain.

Contact dermatitis can also be caused by your skin’s reaction to drool, to detergents, to several allergy-causing foods and to lotions especially those with harsh ingredients.

Some plants are also identified to produce enzymes that may lead to the onset of contact dermatitis. Among these plants are poison ivy.

There are also about 3,000 chemicals that are identified to cause contact dermatitis. Among them are those that are based on common metals like mercury, chrome and nickel.

Some cosmetics can also irritate the skin and trigger the appearance of contact dermatitis manifestation in the skin. Permanent hair dyes, eye shadows, lipstick, clothing dyes, sunscreens and nail polishes are the identified cosmetic lines that cause such skin infection.

Manifestations of contact dermatitis

Several symptoms are pointed to the onset of contact dermatitis. However, it should be noted that for different individuals, the symptoms may vary. To be sure, further advice and check up from a dermatologist should be obtained.

Contact dermatitis occurs when there is swelling or mild redness in the skin. The appearance of the infected spot could clearly not be mistaken for common insect bites.

There is also blistering in the affected skin area, as well as itching. It is surely contact dermatitis when there is a temporary thickening or scaling in the infected skin portion.

Treatment and prevention

To treat contact dermatitis, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology advises people diagnosed that have the skin infection to do the following simple, yet effective remedies.

- Wash thoroughly the infected skin part with soap and ample water. Immediately do this at the initial appearance of symptoms.

- Throw away or carefully wash all clothing and objects that have come into contact or touched plants or chemicals that contain contact dermatitis allergens.

- Relieve and soothe skin inflammation or the infected part with a cold compress especially if the blisters break or crack.

- If the symptoms show severity, do not hesitate to consult a physician or dermatologist.

Baths using lukewarm water are also known to help soothe and rapidly control the skin infection.

As for the prevention, the best way is to avoid all identified allergens.

Risk Factors of Pneumonia

8:42 PM Posted by andree

Pneumonia is inflammation and infection of the lungs, causing difficulty breathing, cough and chest pain. Pneumonia can either affect one or both lungs and there are various forms of the disease. The most common causes of pneumonia are: pulmonary infection with viruses (influenza, herpes simplex virus, varicella-zoster, adenovirus, respiratory syncytial virus), gram positive bacteria (Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes) and gram negative bacteria (Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Neisseria meningitides, Pseudomonas aeruginosa). Pneumonia can also be caused by infection with mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma pneumoniae), small infectious agents that share the characteristics of both viruses and bacteria.

When pneumonia is caused due to infection with viruses, the disease is usually less serious and generates milder symptoms. The symptoms of viral pneumonia resemble those of flu or cold: cough, headache, difficulty breathing, nausea, muscle and chest pain. Most people with viral forms of pneumonia don’t need any medical treatment, as the disease clears on itself within a few weeks. If the symptoms intensify, it is a sign of complication and therefore medical intervention is required.

Advantages to Indemnity Health Insurance Plans

7:55 PM Posted by andree

Indemnity health insurance plans are more regularly known as traditional health insurance plans. These health insurance plans can be costly but often cover most health problems that may arise, while other insurance plans exclude some illnesses or diseases from their coverage. Some disadvantages to indemnity plans are that they do not usually cover preventative health care like physicals, and traditional health insurance plans often cover only a percentage of your bill. Research the advantages and disadvantages to indemnity health insurance when you are considering health insurance options.

While the disadvantages may seem problematic, there are many advantages to indemnity health insurance plans. You may have a higher monthly premium and you may need to pay upfront costs and submit claims paperwork, but your deductible will be more manageable and your coverage will be wider. Some health insurance plans will not cover certain medical expenses or care, but indemnity plans often do.

Health Insurance for Every Need: Understanding the Kinds Available

7:52 PM Posted by andree

In the United States, there are about five different types of health insurance available: traditional health insurance; preferred provider organizations or PPOs; point-of-service plans or POS; health management organizations or HMOs; and most recently, health savings accounts or HSAs. With so many types of health insurance, it may be confusing trying to figure out which one best fits your needs, so thoroughly research each and speak with a professional if you need clarification.

Traditional health insurance is the one that most people think of when they think of health insurance. You pay the insurance company a premium every month, and if you have an accident or need for health coverage, you have a deductible amount you must pay and then the insurance company picks up the rest of the bill. You often have an inexpensive office and/or prescription co-pay with traditional health insurance.

2007 Baltimore Orioles Preview

9:03 PM Posted by andree

The Baltimore Orioles were just a horrible mess last year, finishing in the bottom half of the AL in runs per game, and only one team finished worse in runs allowed per game. Though they will keep the same offensive team, they will make a very significant addition to it, Aubrey Huff. The outfield, amazingly enough, still has Jay Payton as one of the starting lineup. How did this happen? It’s absurd to think that the Orioles are a desperate enough team to keep Jay Payton as a player at all.

Last year, Corey Patterson showed a surprising performance. For his first five years, he played horribly for the Chicago Cubs. He was signed to the Orioles last year, and fought for his career as a pro baseball player, which definitely showed.

Getting Proper Nutrition While In the Mountains

8:06 PM Posted by andree

Mountaineering is a strenuous activity; and the last thing you want to happen to you while in the mountains is to faint due to malnutrition. Thus, it is important to take the kinds of food that would help you survive in the mountains. Nutritionists say that mountaineers should take in as much carbohydrates as possible to quickly replenish the energy lost in hiking or climbing.

Carbohydrates provide one’s body with glucose which functions as your body’s fuel. Glucose can be extracted once carbohydrates have been broken down. Glucose joins the bloodstream and provides your body with energy it needs. Glucose can also be stored in your muscle tissues and in your liver.

The categories at risk of developing stomach ulcer are: people with ages over 50, smokers, people who have suffered abdominal surgery, people who have acquired abdominal injuries and people who follow ongoing treatments with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID).

Something Old, Sometime New: Insurance When You are Getting Married

7:57 PM Posted by andree

Health insurance providers are not created equal. Before a couple is married, the option of sharing coverage is extremely unusual unless one of your insurers offers domestic partner insurance. As you become engaged, if you both have separate insurance it is important to talk about the both of you switching to the better plan once you are married. There are a few factors consider, which include deductibles, co-payments, and the benefits of each separate plan. Marriage is a big step, and it can be done with ease if the two of you settle important decisions such as your health insurance plan before you take the big leap.

Your deductible is the amount you must pay each year to start your policy. Once this payment is made you will be responsible for whatever amount of co-payment your insurance company requires for you to pay for the health expenses that are covered in your particular policy. The amount of co-payments that you will be responsible for is established at the time you agree to your health insurance policy. It is going to be a certain percentage of health expenses; for instance, you pay 10% while your insurer will be paying the other 90%. You and your fiancé should compare both of your plans and figure out which deductible and co-payment plan seems most appropriate for the two of you.

Married couples are usually eligible for certain benefits that unmarried couples are not. Being insured separately by the health care provider sponsored by your employers may no longer be the most beneficial option for you. If you or your fiancé has insurance, and the other does not, once the two of you are married they can be added to the other partner's plan. Cost of adding an additional person is definitely something that should be examined. You should not be required to pay more for adding a spouse or even a child in the future because most plans are offered to immediate family at no extra cost. The best way to compare policies is to estimate a yearly amount of normal health expenses, emergencies, co-payments, and deductibles. Whichever plan has the lowest cost to you will almost always be the best choice.

In addition to sharing health insurance with your new spouse, you may also want to consider switching the rest of your insurance plans, such as the policies you have for your separate automobiles. This is because most companies will give you a discount on having more than one vehicle insured. You may also be interested in finding a company that can insure you home, automobile, and health in one place. If you carry more than one policy with a company, they will also usually give you some sort of discount on them. It is important to sit down and discuss insurance with your fiancé because the two of you could be saving money and stress by figuring out what decision is best before the time comes.

Tips for Mountain Climbing Beginners

8:07 PM Posted by andree

Many young children dream of becoming a policeman, pilot, firefighter, doctor, soldier, etc. when they grow up. Not too many young children dream of becoming a mountain climber, except perhaps if they have relatives or close friends that are mountaineers. It is understandable and for good reason – mountain climbing can be an extremely difficult sport.

The most experienced climbers can still experience difficulties while climbing a mountain, which tells of the hazards of mountaineering. With this fact, how much more for the beginners? Certainly, mountain climbing beginners ought to be prepared before attempting any climb.

Mountain climbing beginners have a lot of preparation to do before any climb. One of these is to get proper mountain climbing training first. Contrary to what many people think, mountain climbing isn't getting up one morning and deciding to climb the nearest mountain. There is proper training involved, which includes techniques such as roping, rappelling, emergency signals, and essential tips.

One of the essential tips that a mountain climbing novice or beginner ought to know are his own limits. It has been said that you are the only one that knows your body, and most mountaineers find this to be true. That being said, mountain climbing beginners shouldn't set Mt. Everest among their first ten peaks to conquer – it will be too much.

Another tip is to never climb alone, beginners more importantly. Novice mountain climbers are more likely to experience hazards they have never seen before, and they could panic should these unforeseen things happen. Of course, panicking can only cause people to think cloudily and may cause more danger.

Mountain climbing beginners may also be surprised at the equipment needed, which are all essential for climbing, particularly when dealing with certain mountain ranges (e.g. the Alps). Since the equipment will be quite an investment, novices may elect not to purchase them, or just get the cheapest ones regardless of quality. This could prove to be a mistake, since equipment is perhaps the second most important thing in mountain climbing, next to proper training.

Finally, it is important to know the weather beforehand. It would be stupid to climb when weather forecasts are predicting a snowstorm in the general vicinity. It would also be stupid to attempt a climb without first knowing the weather conditions.

Beginners ought to gain experience first by climbing some of the easier peaks. When they get the hang of it, that’s the best time to move into a more difficult mountain, and so on, until the time comes to conquer Mt. Everest.

Here are ways that you can try to get what you want in fitness, get more sexy and muscle..
1.Stop and Go

If you play a sport that requires a full sprint, remember that a full sprint strains the muscles of the lower body. To combat this, do stop-and-go exercises. For example, run 30 meters at about 80 percent of your effort, slow to a jog for five to 10 meters, then run again for another 30 meters. Repeat this process five times.

2.On bended knees

Almost 3 out of four ACL injury occurs when players are landing or turning. If your knees are bent instead of straight, the risk of injury is greatly reduced according to a report in the JAAOS (Journal of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons).

What Is Tooth Whitening? How Teeth Whitening Works?

8:51 PM Posted by andree

Teeth Whitening: The process wherein the color of the teeth is lightened is called as tooth whitening. There are various reasons for teeth getting discolored. The main causes are stains of tea, tobacco, coffee, antibiotics etc. These can be removed by tooth whitening. People who have sensitive teeth should not use teeth whitening. People with sensitive teeth would have more problems if they use teeth whitening solutions.

There are many tooth whitening treatments available, some of them are:

1) Bleaching kits: Tooth bleaching solution is applied to the mouth tray and it is inserted into the mouth. After an hour or two or as mentioned in the kit the tray is removed. Most of them work for an hour. The solution contains peroxide, which bleaches the enamel. The carbamide peroxide content in the solution is normally of ten, sixteen or twenty two percent. Some bleach is used twice a day for two weeks while others are used overnight for 1-2 weeks.

2) Laser tooth whitening: A solution is applied on the teeth. A wall made out of rubber is placed on the teeth and the laser is directed towards the teeth and the heat generated enters the teeth through the solution and the treatment takes an hour or so. After the treatment is completed you can see the changes.

3) Whitening Toothpastes: These toothpastes have special chemicals that remove the stains. The main advantage of the whitening toothpaste is it does not change the natural color of the teeth. Colgate Simply White Advanced Whitening Toothpaste is recommended.

4) Tooth whitening strips: These strips are placed on the teeth and are removed after 30 minutes. These are very effective and are recommended. They also contain peroxides.

If the above mentioned ways of treatment are done properly then there won’t be any problem. There is no long-term data on safety of these tooth-whitening treatments.

Naturopathic Medicine Practices

8:38 PM Posted by andree

Naturopathic medicine is a form of medicine that attempts to improve the health of an individual by applying natural remedies. It should be noted that naturopathy is at the most of times used to complement, nor supplement conventional medicine.

Naturopathy was first heard talked about around 1900 by Benedict Lust. Schooled in hydrotherapy and other natural practices in Germanty, Lust was sent to the United States to share the practices in which him and his father Sebastio Kneipp has discovered. Shortly there after in 1905, Lust started and was the founder of the American School of Naturopathy in new York, which was the first naturopathic college in all of the United States.

Lust has great success in the early years, however after the 1930's naturopathy medicine. went into a recession with the discovery of penicillin. With it most other natural health professions declined as well. The post war era brought about several new drugs such as antibiotics and corticosteroids which changed the way we looked at medicine.

Although greatly reduced in the post war era, naturopathic medicine never completely stopped. One of the greatest modern steps back toward the practice was in 1956 when the National College of naturopathic Medicine was opened in Portland, Oregon. This school was the first modern school of the practice, and offered 4 year medical training in naturopathy, with the goal of integrating naturopthic practices back into the mainstream system.

Muscle Fiction

7:40 PM Posted by andree

If you'v been training, here's a short list of bodybuilding fiction.

1. 12 Rep rule

Most weight training program include this much repetitions for gaining muscle. The truth is this approach places the muscles with not enough tension for effective muscle gain. High tension e.g. heavy weights provides muscle growth in which the muscle grows much larger, leading to the maximum gains in strength. Having  longer tension time boosts the muscle size by generating the structures around the muscle fibers, improving endurance.

The standard prescription of eight to 12 repetitions provides a balance but by just using that program all of the time, you do not generate the greater tension levels that is provided by the heavier weights and lesser reps, and the longer tension achieved with lighter weights and more repetitions. Change the number of reps and adjust the weights to stimulate all types of muscle growth.

What Is A Mangosteen?

8:50 PM Posted by andree

A mangosteen is an edible fruit but many people have never seen or tasted a mangosteen. The mangosteen should not be confused with the mango you’ve probably seen in your grocery store and may even enjoy regularly. They are completely different fruits and are in no way related.

The mangosteen fruit currently only grows in Southeast Asia although attempts are being made to cultivate and grow it in other tropical climates. It’s a small fruit, about the same size as a tangerine. The skin of the fruit is a dark reddish/purplish color. The edible fruit inside is pure white and is said to be very sweet and delicious. But because the fruit is highly perishable and because it doesn’t continue to ripen after being picked, it’s not available as a fresh fruit in the United States, nor in many other countries in the world. But in southeast Asia where the mangosteen is widely available during harvest time, it is a prized fruit and is called the “Queen of Fruits.” It’s also the most expensive fruit at the markets in Southeast Asia. And because it is so highly demanded and highly prized, you’ll never see any fruits lying on the ground under the trees (http://www.mangosteenzone.com/mangosteentree). None of the fruit is wasted.

Do you need it? The equipment should suit your interests and needs. The activities that you will do with that equipment should be challenging and something to enjoy on. Make sure that you already know the equipment and that it is something that you already tried in a fitness club. Start from buying small equipments that are aligned to your interests.

Going to Pattaya? You Must Be Crazy!

9:15 PM Posted by andree

What used to be a small, sleepy fishing village is now a tourist destination for millions of single men every year.  Married men are also welcome but for some reason forget that they have a wife and family back home.  Something about the attitude of the Thai women.

With the new International Airport, Suvarnabhumi, opening in late 2006, getting to Pattaya has never been easier.  Most tourists forego Bangkok altogether and head straight for Pattaya regardless of arrival time.  After all, it is only 90 minutes away.  Why go to Bangkok for the night when you head straight to your final destination.

The Importance of Physical Fitness

7:36 PM Posted by andree

One of the simplest and most effective ways to bring down  blood glucose levels, cut the risk of cardiovascular disease, and improve overall health and well-being is physical fitness and exercise. Yet, in our increasingly sedentary world, where almost every essential task can be performed online, from the driver’s seat, or with a phone call, exercising and being physically fit can be tough case to sell.

In reality, everyone should exercise, yet survey shows that only 30% of the United States adult population gets the recommended thirty minutes of daily physical activity, and 25% are not active at all.

Inactivity is thought to be one of the key reasons for the surge of type 2 diabetes in America, because inactivity and obesity promote insulin resistance and other factors that trigger other kinds of diseases.

Many pressure point systems focus a lot of attention on where and even when to hit. Where to hit is important but it should not be the first priority. It doesn’t do you any good to know where to hit if you can not manage to hit there in a real situation when you need to save the life of yourself or a loved one.

One of the basic problems shared by many people who study pressure point hitting is that they are unable to use their knowledge in a real fight. My personal belief is that if you can not use your self-defense art in a real situation then you are wasting your time. One of the basic problems is that in a real fight the action is to fast for the average person to hit a specific point or area on an attacker even if the thought crosses their mind to do so and because the targets are constantly moving the situation is quite different than the way most people practice pressure point hitting in the kwoon or dojo.

The History of Golf

8:15 PM Posted by andree

The history of golf is a debate as to whether the game was invented by the Chinese, the Dutch, or the Scottish.  A game somewhat similar to golf was first mentioned in Dongxuan Records which is a Chinese book of the Eleventh Century.  It was also mentioned in the year 1297 in the Netherlands where the Dutch played a game with a stick and a leather ball.  Whoever hit the ball in a target several hundreds of meters away the least number of times, won.

However, the Scots are generally adamant that the game of golf was a Scottish invention on St. Andrews golf course.  The name “golf” is a derivative of the Dutch word “kolf” however, so as for who really invented the game, we say who really cares!

Bed and Breakfasts

9:14 PM Posted by andree

Using a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel will be an experience like never before. The attention to detail and the service you will receive from the bed and breakfast owners will be second to none. Not only that, but it is likely to be much more personal and relaxed than a busy hotel set in the middle of the action.

Bed and breakfasts are everywhere, they are on the outskirts of popular towns and cities and some of them are right in the thick of the action. Bed and breakfasts were once considered a last resort, now people go on holiday and book bed and breakfasts rather than hotels for the level of service they get. People often used bed and breakfasts as they were easy to find a room at the last notice. However nowadays, you are much more likely to have to book in advance, especially if you are holidaying in a very popular area.

This side of Lanzarote is best summed by the mere mention of one mans name - Cesar Manrique, a man whose influence can be seen all over the island at places like Castillo de San Jose, Ceuva de los Verdes, Fundacion Manrique, Jameous Del Aqua, Jardin De Cactus, Mirador Del Rio, Museo Campesino and the fantasic Timanfaya ("Fire Mountain") and in future articles I will write about each of these.

Lanzarote is the only place in the world where you have your lunch in a cafeteria that is built on top of an active volcano, where the heat to cook your food comes from the volcano itself ?

The coffee table talk goes very low when you whisper, "yeast infection", but the body screams RELIEF NOW! A trip to the doctor, adverse side effects and nothing natural would be the next thought. Can there be a natural solution to a disease that each woman will suffer at least twice in her life?

Yeast infection is like a ghost waiting to scare young and older women when their body becomes out of balance due to stress, dubious partners, hormonal changes and/or immune system weakness.

A few women will elude this voracious monster but unfortunately most will be frightened at least twice in their life and others will live with a chronic reoccurrence of yeast infection.

Of course, your most important pieces of golf equipment are your clubs.  You will want to take care to choose clubs that are suited to your style of golf.  They should be easy to handle and designed toward your height.  Beginners and experts alike should lean towards the lighter graphite shafts and titanium heads so that you have maximum forgiveness in the event of a bad shot.

Steps To Preventing Medication Errors

8:47 PM Posted by andree

Medication errors occur every day, both in the health care setting and at home.

In the hospital, medicines pass through a series of steps to prevent possible errors before reaching the patient.

"Checks are in place at the point when medicine is prescribed, when the prescription order is documented, when the medication is dispensed and when the prescribed medicine is administered to the patient," says Diane Cousins, R.Ph., vice president, Department of Patient Safety Standards Division at the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). "The patient is also monitored to assess any response to the medication-all in an effort to ensure patient safety."

• Talk with your doctor, pharmacist or other health care professionals about safe medication use. Keep an up-to-date list of medicines and dietary supplements you use, and always ask questions about any concerns or thoughts.

Know your medicines by being aware of when, how and how long to use them. Also know what to do if you miss a dose, and whether or not there are any side effects.

Read the label and follow directions. Always double-check that you have the right medicine, particularly if you are refilling a prescription, and never combine medicines in the same bottle. Make sure you understand the directions.

Avoid interactions. Before starting any new medicine or dietary supplement, ask your health care provider or pharmacist if there are possible interactions with what you are currently using. Whenever possible, use the same pharmacy for all your prescriptions.

Monitor your medicines' effects and the effects of other medications or supplements you take. Pay attention to how you are feeling and write down the changes so that you can remember to tell your health care provider or pharmacist. If you experience any side effects, contact your health care provider immediately.

Natural Relief For Arthritis And Joint Pain?

8:33 PM Posted by andree

The years of teaching high impact aerobics are catching up with me. Sure it's been great for the ticker, but the knees on the other hand are showing signs of age and making icky noises. What my Physical Therapist friends call "creep" and "crepitus" (which is just nice technical way of saying "grinding") had become loud enough to be heard by the naked ear! At the rate I was going - I was sure I'd need a knee replacement by 40. Of course this just won't do. So I've taken to doing leg extensions regularly and… taking glucosamine.

Glucosamine - What's That?

"Glucosamine" is a natural constituent of cartilage which has been shown to stimulate the production of connective tissue! In more technical terms, glucosamine is considered an "amino sugar." An amino sugar is the component of a carbohydrate which does not contribute to the body's energy - instead it gets incorporated into body tissues, forming such structures as tendons, ligaments, bones, skin, nails, eyes and heart valves.
